  Plant Operations Manager
Location: 3958 Park Avenue, Bronx NY, 10457
Experience: Daily Tasks:
  • Responsible for coordinating all nightly activities of production, maintenance, warehousing, and sanitation to achieve and production goals
  • Responsible to produce and keep required patty inventory at required levels enabling GK to meet all orders and sales driven demand.
  • Cognizant of all USDA rules and regulation including full knowledge of HAACAP plan etc.
  • Ensure all USDA, FDA, HAACAP, NYS DEPT. of AGRICULTURE requirements are met and standards maintained.
  • Work with QC to institute new Quality Control measures to ensure product quality and consistency is within the predetermined acceptable margins.
  • Supervise all employees within plant to ensure best production practices are in place and being utilized, to ensure product quality is never compromised intentionally or unintentionally.
  • Ensure production reports, variance reports and all verification counts are completed daily to clearly record wastages and inefficiencies that may arise.
  • Evaluate supervisors and employees within plant and fully assess competency among team members, submitting full report to senior management and recommendations on actions to be taken to realign supervisors and team members so plant productivity will be at its optimum.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with supervisors and all team members aimed at creating an open forum for employees to voice concerns, and management to disseminate key information.
  • Recommend ideas aimed at improving employee moral within the plant.
  • Implement an employee evaluation program, where every team member is carefully evaluated at least once per year. In which areas of success are highlighted and areas needing improvements are stated along with means to improve.
  • Recommend improvements on recipes, production methods and machine technology to enhance production quality and productivity.
Daily Tasks:
  • Organizing and setting up needed employee shifts and schedules to meet production requirements to coincide with the anticipated retail launch.
  • Ensure all night time shut-down services (i.e., Patty Storage, Pre-Cleaning or Packing sections, etc.)
  • Communicate effectively with Department Managers regarding Night-Time Production and the affects (if any) for the Morning Shifts.
  • Indirect responsibility for all production and maintenance functions during the night shift
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
  • Minimum of 4 years related experience in the food manufacturing industry.
  • 3 Years Management Experience
  • Experience with all different aspects of the plant including: Production, Quality Control, and Preventative Maintenance, Plant Sanitation.
  • Strong technical knowledge of process controls and working in fast-paced, high-output environment
  • Strong technical skills and working knowledge of general manufacturing equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety related issues in compliance with State, Federal and Local regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and plan
  • Strong Communication and Written Skills
  • Intermediate PC Knowledge
