Golden Krust Anchors 2023 Penn Relays

Athletes Hungry for Gold Flock to Philadelphia

Rain or shine, Jamaicans and the Penn Relays will always be a thing. The 2023 Penn Relays proved to be no exception, despite consistent and often torrential rain throughout much of the competition. With high schools from across the United States and Jamaica in attendance, Golden Krust made its sponsorship presence felt through digital signage throughout Franklin Field during the three-day meet.

First run in 1895, the Penn Relays is the oldest Track and Field meet in the United States. It features participants from high school, college, and track clubs from around the world. Jamaica, being one of the largest participant pools not from the United States, is heavily represented at the event.

Founded by Jamaican immigrants in 1989, Golden Krust Caribbean Restaurant is the largest Caribbean restaurant chain in the United States. Providing a reminder to guests of the event that there are opportunities for Jamaicans to savor the flavors of Jamaica while away from home (115 locations in nine states), helps to further our mission of bringing the taste of the Caribbean to the world.
